God of God, Light of Light

St Botolph's-without-Aldersgate, EC1A 4EU

1700 years ago, the Church affirmed that Jesus is ‘God of God, Light of Light’

Join us for Christian Heritage London’s second Summer Fest from Thursday 31 July to Saturday 2 August at St Botolph’s-without-Aldersgate.

This year marks the 1700th anniversary of the Nicene Creed, one of the most significant statements of Christian faith. Under the theme “God of God, Light of Light”, we’ll explore the Creed’s origins, biblical foundations, and theological meaning.

With talks from:

Stéphane Simonnin (London Seminary) on the Creed’s historical context

Clive Bowsher (Union School of Theology) on the person of Christ in John’s Gospel

Kenneth Brownell (Christian Heritage London) unpacking the Creed’s teachings

Each afternoon includes guided heritage walks through the City of London and tours of the National Gallery and V&A Museum.

Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.
